Some companies do not have space for a water treatment plant. Others already have a plant, but want to enlarge its capacity. These companies can opt for a membrane bioreactor, a compact system that guarantees high effluent quality without suspended solids. A membrane bioreactor can also handle a higher sludge load – and is thus able to process a greater chemical oxygen demand (COD).
